Bradenton Update

Art called from the Bradenton NMRA event last night. Was running in the 12s, trying to get a feel for the track. If I recall correctly, said Carlos (has the gutted S197 and current "stock" record) ran a 11.4x!!! We'll have to see what the official time was on that.

New text from Art: he dialed in a 12.40 this morning and won against a Brenspeed car with a 12.48. Way to go Art! Said 11Sec3V is out, as is SD Wheeler.

Great turn out from Bradenton for Super Stang.

It was obvious that many racers suffered from the winter layoff as reaction times were shakey and consistancy was tough to come by. Derik Hoffert had no problem showing everyone how it was done as he blasted his way to the finals and took out Fun Ford 2007 Ultra Stang champ Chris Parisi in the finals. Bobby Barrick (SST#3) went down in round 4 to Parisi on a nice .02 to his .134. Paul Gamino (SST#2) suffered from a starting line issue in round 3 to put him away earlier than he's used to. S.D Wheeler continued to suffer from engine problems, while he managed to borrow a ride, being on the wrong side of the light by .004 sent him back to Texas in the first round. Pete Espeut (SST#4) had some diff issues but thrashed his way to eliminations, however, he couldn't get it done against Barrick in round 2. Joe Cram schooled Art Quinby on finish line procedures in round 2 only to fall to the eventual winner in round 3. Ken Klingler, fresh of a nice win at Orlando Battle of the Brands succumbed early to Hoffert. David Stauder battled shifter issues all weekend but still managed to run high 11's with his new N/A combo. Now that the first race of the season is behind us the Atco NJ event should prove very interesting.
