Went to the track tonight. Holy Crap the clutch and DR's are great together. Too great it appears.
I made my first pass. 20 PSI, nice smokey burn-out, hard launch at about 4500 RPM's. I cut my 60' from 2.1's down to 1.86. No wheel spin. The car lifted hard and solid, but I heard and felt a massive pop, and the car started to dog walk down the track. It trouble me so much that I lost focus and bounce off the rev limiter and blew the run.
I get back to the pits and jack up the car. The lower control arms and relo bracket are fine, suspension is fine, can't find anything wrong.
I make another pass and now my driver's side rear wheel spins a little, the car dog walks up the track, I still pull a 1.88 60', but I only get a 8.5 ET. So now I am pretty pissed. I was clutch dumping at 7k two week before with no week spin, 2.1 60', and was pulling a 8.5 ET. I should have been almost a half second faster right?
I lower my tire pressure down to 15 psi. I go to make my 3rd run. I do a burnout, but it felt like only the driver's side tire spun. I leave the line at 4k+ rpm, but this time my left tire spins hard for the first 25'-30', the car dog walks up the track, I get a 2.0 60', and run an 8.7... WTF???!!!
I don't really say anything to the guys at the track becasue I thought I was wrong, and just suck as driver. BUT, when I get home, I jack up the car, put it in gear, let the e-brake out, and try to spin the passager's side tire forward. Sure as shit the tire not only moved, driver's side rolls in the other f-ing direction! I go to the other side and spin the left tire and it spins fine, only the right side doesn't move!
Brand new LSD with 5000 miles and 10 passes on it shits the bed! I only got one good pass out of it.
I am so glad the Eaton TruTrac and the 4:56's are going in in a few days.
