Hey folks. I am getting sick of all the noise from my BMR Hemi Joint LCA's. They help the car hook like no ones business, but good God do they make some noise!
I am thinking the BMR Billet w/poly's are going to be the way to go, but I want some feedback before I pull the trigger.
What LCA's are you guys using? Any noise? What are your 60' times?
Thanks in advance!
Spaz
CHE solids with poly bushings here, over 1000 runs no problems.
60's in the low 1.6x range

That's good to hear. My FRPP SVT LCA didn't last 200 races. I want to be sure I don't make that mistake again. 1000 passes sounds pretty good, esp w/1.6x 60'.

I have these. Not noisy at all, and I've hooked as low as 1.59, but the norm is the 1.64-1.69 range. Only maybe 200 runs though:

I spoke to Chuck (CHE) yesterday on the phone. Unfortunately hes not offering up LCA's anymore. Sucks! I would check http://www.hotpart.com/ , everyone I know that runs them speaks highly of them.

Yea, no kidding. Saturday was my 3rd time at the track with the new setup, but the first time I didn't break something. I am pulling a best of 1.79 :-(

This works for me: You have to dump the clutch at high rpm, and work the balance between tire pressure and shock setting. In general, I put my shock setting halfway (6 turns out of 12), and start my tire pressures at 18lbs. The shocks are somewhat firm and limit chassis bobbing. I start working tire pressures down, but the over all desire is highest pressure where I can hook solid--hook, but have the least rolling resistance. Yesterday I had to take it all the way down to 15lbs but then I was in a 1.65 groove and left it there. That works with 275 and 295 series Mickey Thompson drag radials.
I'm sure with my bogarts, and bias ply skinnies and rear 11.5" ET Streets, I'll have to start all over again.

I think I need Line-locks and a 2-step. Once I find the right revs with the 2-step, I should be able to dup it with my foot.
I have fixed shocks (for now) so I can't do anything there. I need the line-locks so I can do good burn out with lower tire psi. I got down to 17 psi Saturday, but I couldn't power-brake without stalling.
John, do you get any tire spin when leaving the line? The 1.79's I pulled was with some tire spin, which means there is room to improve 60' times, right?

The 1.59, believe it or not, was WITHOUT the QA1 shocks, just the fixed lower and adjustable upper. I think I was at 16lbs.
Mark, I had a lot of trouble doing burnouts with the 28" tires, and had to use 2nd gear every time--the M&Hs require a lot more effort (in my hands at least) to get a smokey burnout since my power output is marginal. It would be interesting to see what my 275/40-17s would do for you on a stock 17x8" wheel (I have spares). In fact, I have an ET Street already mounted on one set. If I can get Zach to follow me to the next drag rental I'll bring all my drag tires and you can try different ones.

That would be very cool. It would be fun to see if a shorter tire will yield some better times. I did notice it is really hard to get these tires hot. I think I found the secret though.
keep in mind, I have the 4.56's now. I went to do a burnout and I thought I had the car in 1st, but it was really in 3rd. I did the best burnout I had done all day. Smoke was coming in from the dash vents it was so smokey. I got on the line, still in 3rd and thinking it's 1st, and when the light changed I stalled it trying to come off the line. At that point I realized I was in 3rd.
After that I started doing all my burnouts in 3rd gear for the rest of the day. I went from low 1.9's / high 1.8's, to consistant 1.79x for the rest of the morning.

The first time this happened to me I was worried I broke another motor. LOL. Now its normal for me to see smoke coming into my dash vents.

This happened to me last night, I did the smokiest burnout I have ever done.. unfortunatly it was on one wheel .. it was coming out my vents, under the dash, everywhere. I looked back and could not see the back wall or the car I was racing, he could not even see to do a burnout LOL
