With the recent news of Saleen does anyone think that there is any chance that this engine will be included in the 2011 Mustang?
would be nice to see 400hp on a standard GT.

It would be nice. Might think about an upgrade if that happens.

I've read several reports about a 5.0 'Coyote' engine, although I've seen reference to a 6.2 liter as well (probably a truck engine there, though). I've thought a little about what I'd do if the current engine blew to smithereens: no sense getting a built 4.6, why not move to a 5.4. I guess if the engine lasts another year I'll have other options...

Ford has two drop-ins I have been looking at. The 5.4L TVS, fully dressed iron block (no ac or ps) 605 fwhp for $18k or the NA 302 AL block with 9.7:1 CR and 450 fwhp for $8k.

The FI setup is tempting to say the least... but $18k is a big chunk of cash.
