I am having trouble trying to decide what to do with the Converter in my Car. Any Ideas
As you know I toasted my 5R55S with 70,000 Miles and alot of racing,
Last October I installed a TCI Super Street Fighter 3500 Converter, the car ran great but I only had a few runs at the track to get used to it, This Spring I went to the track 1/8 mile and after my 2nd run I toasted the Rear End and when I got back to the pits I noticed trans fluid on the ground and on the road surface for several hundred feet. On the the trip home the trans started to slip in 3rd and 4th, so at this point I figured the trans is toast.
My Dilemma is that I bought a 2007 Low Mileage Takeoff 5R55S and want to put a higher stall on it before I swap the transmissions. I currently have a TCI Super Street Fighter 3500, Should I:
1) have PTC restall my stock stall to 2800 for $150.00 plus 2 way shipping
2) Keep the Stock converter for now and buy a better one next year (Like PI something with multiplates)
3) Use the TCI SuperStreet Fighter 3500, it's fine for my power levels
4) Bite the Bullet and buy a PI or other Multiplate Converter now it will last a long time.
I plan on rebuilding my current one over the wintertime to be stronger than stock so I will need a converter for this one too.
I have the following Mods
JLT II CAI (BamaChips 93 Tune)
Comp Cams 127200 NSR
Steeda UDP's
Steeda CMDP
JBA Long Tube Headers
JBA Catted X-pipe
FRPP GTA Mufflers
FRPP 4.10 Gears
Spyder Aluminum DS
CHE Lower Control Arm
Steeda Adj UCA
LPW Differential Cover Girdle
Eaton TrueTrac Locker
275/50x17 M&H Drag Radials
Here are pictures of the new Trans

I cleaned it up gave it a quick aluminum spray paint and put the steel braided line on it I had left over (I am weird about clean parts)
