I am having trouble trying to decide what to do with the Converter in my Car. Any Ideas

As you know I toasted my 5R55S with 70,000 Miles and alot of racing,
Last October I installed a TCI Super Street Fighter 3500 Converter, the car ran great but I only had a few runs at the track to get used to it, This Spring I went to the track 1/8 mile and after my 2nd run I toasted the Rear End and when I got back to the pits I noticed trans fluid on the ground and on the road surface for several hundred feet. On the the trip home the trans started to slip in 3rd and 4th, so at this point I figured the trans is toast.

My Dilemma is that I bought a 2007 Low Mileage Takeoff 5R55S and want to put a higher stall on it before I swap the transmissions. I currently have a TCI Super Street Fighter 3500, Should I:

1) have PTC restall my stock stall to 2800 for $150.00 plus 2 way shipping
2) Keep the Stock converter for now and buy a better one next year (Like PI something with multiplates)
3) Use the TCI SuperStreet Fighter 3500, it's fine for my power levels
4) Bite the Bullet and buy a PI or other Multiplate Converter now it will last a long time.

I plan on rebuilding my current one over the wintertime to be stronger than stock so I will need a converter for this one too.

I have the following Mods
JLT II CAI (BamaChips 93 Tune)
Comp Cams 127200 NSR
Steeda UDP's
Steeda CMDP
JBA Long Tube Headers
JBA Catted X-pipe
FRPP GTA Mufflers
FRPP 4.10 Gears
Spyder Aluminum DS
CHE Lower Control Arm
Steeda Adj UCA
LPW Differential Cover Girdle
Eaton TrueTrac Locker
275/50x17 M&H Drag Radials

Here are pictures of the new Trans

I cleaned it up gave it a quick aluminum spray paint and put the steel braided line on it I had left over (I am weird about clean parts)

If the TCI is good, put it in, you will basically have the same set-up you did and can most likely expect it to last as long as the last trans. This should buy you the time you need to get your old trans worked, wait for a better converter and still run what the car was capable of or better.

I tend to keep my car like I like my women... dirty looking outside, clean on the inside ;):woot:

The Transmission is installed, the Torque converter is back from TCI refreshed, and the first thing I got was a Blinking OD Light, then after a little more driving I got a "P0745 Pressure Control Solenoid Malfunction" CEL Fluid is filled Any Ideas?

Remember the Transmission is from an 08 my car is an 05, are there any known differences between the years?

Yea... you bought a bad trans.

Blinking OD light is due to the trans temp going to high. P0745 code is most likely valid, causing the high temps.

Sorry dude, but you got screwed. :depres:

Talked to Larry's Transmisison (5R55S Experts) Say that the Selinoid Pack is gone, The Blinking light is an issue with the Overdrive Servo hole is worn out, (Common Issues with the 08 Trans)

Well Just Toasted $1000.00 on a faulty Transmission. I am just so Pissed.
Looks Like I may be out for next month.

Chris is working on it, but is baffled.. I have no Idea where to go from here.

I am so sorry man. I wish there was something I could do to help you. You need to go grab that Asshole who sold it to you and get your money back. I'm sure we can find a few people so we can roll 10 deep to the SOB's house...

Chris From Excessive worked on it all day he would not accept that this low mileage trans would be shot.

He was able to get the codes to stop, It may have been due to a sticky OD servo and the P0745 error could have been the plug looks like it was corroded, he cleaned all the connectors and the code is gone.

So I was able to drive it home today, it was weird driving after 6 weeks.
So Oil Change today and a bath for my baby.
