Right now plan on leaving Friday about 9am.

Leaving from Westminster area (specifically New Windsor).

My son took I81 S last spring, said it took him 7.5 hours to make Charlotte, so add a little to get over to Rockingham. I'm getting tired of I95 but could do that route if enough folks are traveling that way.

Right now, I plan on towing with my '98 Expedition and rent a UHaul car trailer, but I have to see how much that is per day, as it wouldn't be returned until Tuesday. If it's > $100 for the trailer then I'll just drive the car and haul my wheels/tires.

We are leaving Friday morning too. We are using 95, to 64, to route 1.

You are only an hour and a half north from me using country roads, so you may want to use the same route we do. We got there in 4.5 hours, so it sounds like you could shave an hour off your trip.

I'll tell you this, if we get a good car count together for the cruise down, I'll pick mountains and cruising with my friends regardless of the route vs time savings... so whatever you guys want to do is cool with me. I'll go either way.

I'll be towing, but will do either route. Rather do 81 so my wife can see the scenery instead of bugging me all the way down.

VMP? that is on the eastern side of Richmond. You should see if they will meet us in Lynchburg. We can take 81, cut over to lynchburg, then take 29 to 220, then go 1 north.

There coming from Virginia Beach, so 95 or 70 is a better option for them.
they are going to Raleigh, NC and cutting through to 40
