It was good meeting you last night at the NVMC club meeting. Great looking car, it made up my mind about trimming my Shaker.

Too bad I didn't get to meet Scott too.

Hey David! Nice to meet you as well. Thanks for coming to say hello, and for the kudos on the car.

Scott spent his night under the Saturn (I think) trying to pull the motor and trans to swap a crank. We can alway get him out to BK or Chick Fil A one night too.

Yea I got the Engine Pulled, Replaced the Crankshaft but the Connecting Rod end got so hot it's warped so I does not fit. I had to buy a new connecting rod, Front and Read Main seals so it's down a bit longer.

It took 3 hours to pull the engine and Transmission and 5 min to replace the crankshaft ... that trans was leaking like a stuck pig for hours and could not contain the fluid, it would not stop. So now I wait for more parts to come in.

Hey Guys,

I got home from Winchester at 6 PM and decided to do the number on the Shaker Shroud. I was finished by 7:30, it took as long to remove it and reinstall it as it did to trim it. Now I need to detail all the motor stuff that the shroud was hiding before.

John Sexton is comming by tomorrow morning and we are going to install pads and rotors on all 4 wheels. The Wilwood deal he was working on fell through and his rears are in bad shape.

Who's Saturn are you working on Scott? Is that yours or for a customer? Sounds like a pain in the arse to do.

Here are a few pics of my Shaker trim job this evening.

Man, that looks great! I really like that trim molding you put on there. Where did you get that? I tried putting the "door edge" bump trim on mine, but the self-adhesive in the molding melted all over and made a big mess. Yours looks like it would work a lot better.

John is a good guy... glad you are able to help him out. Bummer about the big-brake kit. I saw them on Josh's car. They looked really nice.

Any idea what he is going to put on? I got a set of PowerSlot's with Hawk hi-pro pads for $650. I am pretty happy with those.

I got the trim on eBay a month ago in anticipation of doing this trim on the Shaker. I have a piece 7' 10" left over, it should be enough to do yours if you don't go under the air tube from the scoop, you are welcome to it. I tried using that trim you are talking about on another project and it is crappy to work with and it looks kinda crappy too (IMHO), this stuff does a really nice job and works well on inside and outside corners.

This is a link to the eBay guy who sells this stuff, he has a bunch of other types of edge molding too.

EDIT:

We installed a low milage used set I had taken off of my car on John's car, all stock Ford stuff.

I would love to try the piece you have left over to see if I would like it. It woulld be great if it fits all the way around too. Maybe I can get it from you at the next meeting.

Sure I'll put it in my trunk tomorrow so I have it with me at the next meeting. But I only live a couple of miles from you, I can bring it by if you want.

What ever is good for you, I am retired so I am off all of the time... Thursdays is the only bad day for me, I have an ongoing commitment that day.

Hey Dave! I FINALLY got around to installing that trim molding. It only took me a month... LOL.

Man, that stuff is great. The shaker looks so much better. I had about 6 inches extra, so the piece was just the right length.

Thanks a bunch. I really appreciate it!

Cool... I'm glad it worked out ok, I'll have to check it out next time I see you. I just ordered another 12 ft of that stuff, it comes in handy to have lying around to trim the edges of sheet metal with.
