View Full Version : Cecil County 9/18
What's Cecil like car wise on Friday nights and how's traffic on 95 S in that area around 5-6 O'clock?

I was wondering the same thing, I hope it's better than capital on friday, it's 100 % rice.
95 north of Baltimore should be fine for you as far as traffic. for me it's a different story...

Art, the crowd varies. I've been there all night and got in two runs, yet I hear from other folks that are up there more often that they can easily get in 10 runs. Like Scott says, that particular stretch of 95 isn't bad at all around exit 100. But point south (say Baltimore to Bel Air) are pretty nasty come rush hour.
Since I have to travel over the Baltimore Beltway and up 95 to get there, I no longer go to cecil except for weekend events.
Thanks guys, just looking at options for this weekend.

some thing wrong with ATCO?
Art - wanna race a rental on Monday??? Etown?? all day??? you could get 25 runs if you wanted.... I have a spot that I'm trying to sell... $175 for the day includes lunch
let me know - Ron is going to be there as well
Atco is having non-racing events this weekend, E-town is usually packed Fri night, diesel racing on Sat, Island track prep is usually pretty bad Fri nights plus they put that friggin cone up to keep "street tire" cars out of the groove. Will most likely be at Island Sat. Looks like some decent air tonight, looking for a track that has a chance to hook and get more than 2 runs in. Monday looks like a decent day but I need to be at work.

Good Luck -
I agree Island is a last resort place to race, been there a few times and while they run a good rental (well staffed) the track is poor.
Too bad you cant take Monday off.... cough cough cough.... ;) do I hear you coming down with a cold??

Race days (Sat), at Island the track is usually in good shape, Sunday test and tunes are hit and miss but mostly good, but Fri nights are usually pretty bad.
Being the guy that takes the call outs, it always cracks me up, the guys always have their sick voice on, even if it's a reason that has nothing to do with being sick :D
I'll be taking some time off at the end of the week, going to Wildwood for the Wknd for the car show, so Monday is out.

Can't help you this weekend, but Oct 3rd the NVMC is having a private rental at MasonDixon Dragway in Northern MD. $52 via PayPal if you pay in advance or $60 at the gate. We usually have about 30 to 50 cars, both lanes, never any wait.
I am heading out to see about a new personnal best, maybe pop an 11.xxx... I hope.

I predict at least 2 of us will have 11 sec time slips by the end of the first week in Oct. ;)

Man I hope so. Between you, Matt and I, it feels like it is never gonna happen. You two have a way better chance then I do though. I gotta hope the bad trans and tuning problems being corrected is enough to put me another .5 seconds faster.
On the day to day clock, a 1/2 second is nothing, but in the race world, you might as well be talking about days instead of 1/10ths of a second.
I got my fingers crossed and my prayers are spoken for all 3 of us. It would be cool as shit if all 3 of us get to end the season in the 11's.

I've got the revised C&L intake manifold (new runner lengths), plus a GT500 TB and C&L racer intake to go on before we race next. I doubt the prototype C&L 3v heads will be ready until spring though, so that's for next year. But I may get close to 11.99 the weekend of Nov 1.

We have to come up with an "11 Second NA Club" logo. I think it would be cool to add the logo to a sub-section on our avatar area.

Get to capitol when the gates open.
If I wanted I could get 10 runs by 7. By that time I'm headed back home.
