got my built N\A 5.4 3V tuned by JJ at Woodbine Motorsports today and here's the results:
421rwhp @ 7100rpms
388ft.lbs. @ 5000rpms
still more left in it. no tricks on these pulls. full exhaust, all accessories turning(no short belt) no ice bags etc. oh and it's an auto car with a high stall converter which has previously dyno'd with the stock engine (full bolt-ons) at 296rwhp (about 10%less than a stick car with comparable mods) so we know we could have gotten 450rwhp just by doing some little tricks but i'm not complaining.
i ran 11.89 @ 114.7 with 296 rwhp @ 3550#
i'm roughly at 3700# now but with 125 more hp:qd:

Dynojet or Mustang dyno?
Glad to see your build come full circle.
If its a Mustang, nearly same numbers as EagleStroker's 298 3v...

it was a dynojet. mustang dyno's are very easily manipulated. this is not a sales pitch dyno test so we pulled no tricks whatsoever and it's an auto trans car with a high stall converter. no short belt, full exhaust and that peak was on my 4th pull within an hour or so. no doubt if we had played some tricks we could have posted some killer #'s but i'd rather do that stuff on the track.
marc i'll try to make it but i've got a front seal leaking and still need to add the roll bar unless they let me slide a bit:). wish i could post the dyno sheet but i can't get dynojets winpep7 run viewer download to work.
previously with the stock engine (full bolt-ons) i made 296rwhp (dynojet) and ran 11.89 @ 114.7 with that combo so i have a good feeling it's going to run pretty good at the track:qd:.

Im sure that powerplant will have much more under curve, even if they would be similar.
Love the build, been following on othe sites... just scares the shit out of me how long the roads been!!
You, Beau, Mark, and a few others builds are a test, a test of time...
A test, I am trying to avoid. I know only too well how a project goes MUCH further than planned once you get into it... and see all the little things that could/should be improved to yield the most efficient use of primary project.
Looking forward to you getting that mo fo to the track!
Killer Ron...Can't wait to see it run!

I'm going to try for the NVMC track day. Hopefully JJ can go and help me work on some little things. i guess i'll just have to shut it down a bit early so i don't get busted for the roll bar....maybe i can sneak one full pass in:)

It worked Marc.
ran 11.45,11.44,11.42,11.37 and finally 11.26 @ 121mph launching only at 2000rpms.
IAT's were super hot 110-126degrees on all runs so i've got to get that issue cured. there's a bunch of power left on the table there. ambient air was 75-80degrees.
JJ thanks for your help!!!
10's here i come.
NICE! That thing is a beast...

Hahaha! I was shocked when I saw the 11.26 run. I looked at Ebby and said "Was that Ron?!" LOL
Great job man... :gwave:
JJ, your the best bro! I don't know anyone that will go to the track with a client and help him tune the car! Granted, this is a one-off build, but still top notch service.

Tens NA in a mod motor. Wow. I have a vid of one of your runs, you should be able to see it here: MasonDixon10-3-09 :: 09100306.flv video by jwgroovin - Photobucket . It looks like the 11.42 run, but the damn bulbs make it a bit tricky.

awesome thanks john. it actually looked like it left decent. that was only leaving at 2000rpms.

Lets not forget the 11.26 was also a hotlap after he blew the tires off on the previous run. :)
The car will go 10's for sure, its just a matter of how far into the 10's it will go.

yeah i'm happy it runs as good as i thought it should. There was a bunch of critics that said no way and don't build the 5.4 etc. my combo may sound radical but it's really not that special.
stock '04 f150 5.4 iron block, sutton ported heads, stock valves, probe I-beam rods, probe flat tops, stock crank (stock stroke), where i really spent the money was valve train: custom ground solid roller cams, comp beehive (duramax type), solid lash adjusters, titanium retainers, stock followers, VCT lockouts (specially modified to allow cam degreeing) and of course the first 5.4 JPC intake.
OH and one awesome E85 tune from Woodbine Motorsports :)
if it doesn't rain i'll go try it out again at the track rental on sunday if not you guys will see me at rockingham next week. maybe i can get kicked out by running my 10 sec. pass there. :)
