View Full Version : Trans Help Needed

I made only 2 passes then gave up. On the fist pass I tried to load the tq converter on the line. Even with only 1500 rmps I was practicly pushing though the beams (supposed to be a TCI 3000 stall). On green, it just falls on it's face. I had a 2.6 60'.

On the second pass I flashed the converter out of the hole. I pulled a 2.06 60' time. It still fell on it's face.

The car feels like the tq converter is locked all the time, even at an idle. I have no idea how to test it to know for sure. The lock-up tables in the tune show it should only lock in 4th (basicly stock). Anyone know how I can test it without dropping the trans for the 5th time in 2 months?

thought you had a 6speed in it...what trans is in there now.

Yup, I went through two 3650's and a 6060. The 6060 was awesome on the streets and at high speeds. If I was doing road course stuff I would have keeped it. The 2.83:1 first gear was killing me. I lost 0.3 on my short time... :(

Anyway the 4th trans (in two months) is a 5r55 with a deep pan kit and a TCI Stall (3k).

man thats a lot of work retro fitting a auto in a stick car and getting all the harnesses changing the ecm etc. that trans should be fine with your combo. heck i've beat the shit out of my 5R and it's still fine.
