My birthday is this upcoming Friday, and I figured a good old Test and Tune would be more fun that bracket racing at MIR that weekend. So how about heading to Mason Dixon Saturday for what appears to be their last TnT this season? Then we all could hit Famous Dave's in Frederick for a late lunch/early dinner after. Temps in mid 50s, dry air, and a probably sea level DA? I'm reposting this on MD Patriots to drum up interest as well.

I'm going to check my work schedule and see if I can do this.

Well, let's see, there were 5 of us at first that took advantage of the Mason Dixon air: Todd, Scott, Laura, Kevin and myself (Ron showed up later but I only had a chance to catch one of his runs, an 11.07 I think, before leaving). 60fts were 1.6-1.7 but I couldn't get out of the 12.5s to save my life, and running a consistent 107mph. Laura ran 13.4s at 103 consistently with her 1.9 sixt foots. How'd the rest of you do? From the grumbling it seemed everyone was at least .2-.4 tenths off and about the same mph wise.
What happened? We had PERFECT air for this: moderate temps, low humidity, the DA calculation started around -1100 and only went up to about -500 by the time we left. Sometimes we start thinking a bit crazy (the timing system at MD is off after the 1/8) but in talking with folks I realized I never had great times at MD. They always occur at MIR or Cecil. Soooooo, now I'm looking forward to Superstallions at Cecil next week, and I AM datalogging. the numbers will tell, I guess...

Yea!
It was a wash for me too, but had a good time none the less. I also got some seat time. First pass, stall up to 3200....launch....car spins and literally does not move. I thought I broke the rear end on this pass so babied it down the track. Scott and I jacked up the car and checked the lsd and it was fine.
Second pass, spun again launching at 2800. Third pass, spun again launching at 2600. Track prep was crap. As John said "every one was off by 3-4/10ths and the same mph wise". I should have waited and gone to MIR. At least the car runs 11's even in bad conditions though.
I did get some cool pics though, I was on a rear view burn out kick...

Hey Guys, I am sorry I didn't make it up. I started tuning my car around 8 AM and did not finish until almost 3:30 PM. To make things worse, we found my pinion bearing is gone so the car will not be raced anytime soon. Need to do a rear rebuild. After readding John's post, it seems like I would not have made any good times anyway.
I hope you all had time hanginh out anyway.
Nice pics BTW...
