Does Ford Performance no longer manufacture 4.30s? I'm seeing nothing but Motive Gear for the 30s. I know my 3.73s and 4.10s were Ford.

If that's the case, any concerns with Motive 4.30s? I read alot about whine, but I always wonder if it's just an install issue...

they used to offer them but they were just reboxed motives. had the discussion wiht the techs at FRPP a while back.
if you get the 4.30's spend the extra money and go with the XP version. they use a back cut ring gear which is lighter but also they are made to closer tolerances than the cheapo gear sets.

Motives are loud. I had more than a dozen sets in the past 10 years. But, they lasted well given the extreme abuse I put them through.

I agree. the high perfomance are $30 - $60 more depending on where you get them, but are worth the extra cash. They are pre-run too, so they give you a starting pinion depth that is typicly prety damn close.

my 4.56's are quiet... even w/ spherical UPR.

Just get the frpp 4.56's and race 28" tires.

I just recently purchased FRPP 4.30 gears and it has FRPP written all over the box so I guess they do make those gears

If the FRPP part # ends with an M then Motive makes them for Ford, they will be the performance gears by Motive, approximately 1.5 lbs lighter than the FRPP A gears. The "AX" series gears from Motive are not available for the 8.8, only the 9".
