My gas pedal got stuck at WOT 3 times in the past to days. Every time it happened I had two kill the motor with the key, then pull the pedal off the floor. Once the pedal started to move up just a fraction of a mm, it would spring back up fine.
It is not getting stuck on the floor mat. I took that out after the first time and left it out. This is a DBW, so the pedal is attached to a potentiometer. The only things I can think of are:
The pivot axle (pin) is starting to wear out of round it is is getting stuck (NOT LIKELY).
The axle/pin needs to be lubed,
The return spring is binding.
I am over pedaling and the contact point is dropping off the end of the resistive surface and getting stuck.
So it this a throw-away part or can it be serviced? If I can service it, can you guys think of anything else that could be looked at? Should I just go buy a new pedal assembly?
Thanks in advance...
