Just got off the phone with Jason at MIR. Thought I would book a date for my third annual rental. I'm going to try to kill my October curse/bad mojo.
Same as last year, here are the details:
Date: October 19th, 2009
Time: 9:00AM to 5:00PM EST
Cost: $100.00
Track Info: http://www.mirdrag.com (http://www.mirdrag.com/)
Like last year, there is no profit in this rental, just charging based on what MIR charges, which is essentially $100 a car. It's expensive, and I can see hard cores hitting this one. It is however scheduled at a time of the year where...
There is relatively good air
8 hours of racing to really dial in the car before the end of the season.
Also, please note this is on a Monday.
Here are some more details...
Single Lane (not a full blown event, we are gunning for ET’s here)
330 prepped
EMT and ambulance
Cars must pass IHRA tech inspection
This track is similar to Cecil County drag way, nearly at sea level, with good air the da is in the negatives. If you are interested in participating, please PM me and I will get you the payment details. Payment is upfront and permanent unless the rental is canceled due to weather conditions.
Food@Track
Lunch will be provided at an additional charge by Jenna & Lisa. Charge will be $1, though subject to change once the menu is finalized.

Track Info
Maryland International Raceway is located in Budds Creek, Maryland, in St. Mary's County. About one mile from the Wicomico River, MIR's elevation is only 80'! That's why so many records are made at our facility! MIR's seating capacity is 12,500 people, with plenty of parking to accommodate. There are also "Family" Grandstand Sections, sponsored by Pepsi, where no alcohol is permitted!

MIR has its very own J34 Jet Dryer with incredible track drying capabilities! This unit minimizes track drying time and also heats up the racing surface. There's also a DTN Weather Center located in the Race Control. This system gives us real-time Doppler radar, and updates every 5 minutes - allowing us to make more informative decisions on event status if there is inclement weather.

MIR also has a playground located behind the pit-side 1320 Cafe (well out of the way of vehicle traffic). The entire playground is made of super strong plastic - so kids, there's no chance of splinters!

There's also an On-Track Torco Fuel Station. We carry Mach 104 Unleaded, Mach 110, Mach 112, Mach 116 and racing Alcohol. You'll also find nitrous oxide filling and co2 filling at the Torco Fuel Station. Racers can bring their canisters to the souvenir stand as early on race day as possible and we'll make sure they're back on track quickly. We're happy to offer this service as an added convenience to the racers!
Two Emergency Track Trucks are always on site ready for use. These trucks have been provided by Purvis Ford in Fredericksburg, VA. One of the trucks is for Fire and Rescue Service, outfitted with a nitrogen fired 80 gallon foam unit. It is capable of extinguishing a car that is fully engulfed in flames in a matter of moments. Our other truck is outfitted with special equipment for track clean-up. All of this along with mechanical sweepers, heavy-duty tractors for brooming and blowing and our own J34 Jet Dryer gives us an almost fully automated operation for track clean-up, with most oil downs lasting only about 10-15 minutes!
Located directly in front of the burnout area are the Dial-In Boards. These popular units display a drivers dial-in before he even begins his burnout! They help ensure complete accuracy in eliminations.
Cheers.
