Well, after 3 years I finally broke down and got wheel/tire combo for the track. Race Stars and MT's. Man, those front-runners are NOT good for the street... but man does the reduced rotating mass help on the forward acceleration.

I figured I would share a few pics.

I have the FRPP SVT lowering springs. 1.5 in the front, 1.75 in the back.

Mark or Scott

did you guys have any issues with the lugs going on the studs? one guy on S197 had a hell of a time and broke 3 or 4 studs, he's suggesting that the studs be chased before putting the Racestars on. I'm not sure it's needed.

I'm waiting on the 15 x 5s for the front. I want to use these on the street and figured the bigger front would be more street friendly, I have to wait till May for them tho, I'll sacrifice the extra few pounds

All mounted up:

Wow, the way the light shines off them... they almost look holy. LOL Very nice.

I have not had ony problems, other than figuring out an easy way to install the cam washers. I have had them on and off the car twice, including a day of racing today. They use cam washers which are a pain in the ass. I would be willing to guess the other guy mounted them wrong. If you put a cam washer on backwards, it bends the stud. I can see it snapping no problem when you try to pull them off if you don't install them correctly.

I bought a set of hub centric rings to help center the wheels up. The fronts are super easy because of how light they are, but the backs are too heavy for me to do it easily. (being disabled sucks btw). The rings came in today while I was at the track, so I didn't try those yet. I will try them and let you know how those work out. For $10 I figure it's a no-brainer to make my life easier.

thanks Marc, I did get the hub centric rings and played around with the washers and lugs while the wheels were in the position in that photo so I think I get how they work.

I'm planning on putting the wheels on this morning so I'll get pics up later.

Well, I got the hub centric rings. They came in while I was at the track. Man if they showed Friday, my day would have been much better. Now, keep in mind, I am disabled. Manual tasks take much more effort for me compared to someone in good health, but good Lord did those rings help.

Track side with an impact wrench, it took me an hour to get a 4 wheels on properly and centered. Today in the driveway, I tried the rings. 20 minutes for all 4 wheels... including jack time. Much better!

If you guys get these wheels, I highly recommend you spend the extra $10 total for 4 rings.

No the lugs and bolts are fine, the trick is not to allow the lug bolts to bind, if you do the 6 o'clock and 2 o'clock lugs first, snug them up the rest go on with ease. Use anti-seze or a little grease inside the nuts before you screw them on and it will make it smoother

did exactly that and while it took some finesse and too much time, I did get them on

After the 3rd time now I can put these on in record time.

That's great. I'm thinking if I take them off that I may use some adheisve to seat the washers in the holes before I put them on again.

are you guys putting them on with the center caps in place?

Yes. I don't take mine off.

I like the idea of glue for the cam washers. Mybe silicon. Strong enough to hold, but rubber-like setup allows for some minor movement.

just got off the phone with Mike H @ Racestar. Gotta give props to him for taking a lot of time to answer my questions and explain a lot of things to me.

One thing I'll highlight, the catalog was printed and made before the final specs were done. So the offsets listed on the site are off.

The 15 x 8s are in fact +19MM offset. The 15 x 10s are not 51mm but I didn't ask what they are.

Looks like I have to learn how to adjust my panhard bar now... off to the search feature for me.

Thanks Marc for the heads up on how good those guys are. I spoke to Mike H over there, come to find out there are two Mikes.

Adam (Deimos) had the same issue with the Axle being off or shifted to one side so he bought an Adjustable Panhard Bar and corrected it that way.

They are between 100-200 bucks

Steeda (http://www.steeda.com/products/panhard_bar_brace.php), UMI (http://www.mustangpartsoutlet.com/69577/.html),Spohn (http://www.lmperformance.com/5286/73.html), BMR (http://www.cjponyparts.com/bmr-tubular-adjustable-panhard-bar-with-rod-ends-2005-2010/p/PHB6/), Edelbrock (http://www.jegs.com/i/Edelbrock/350/5220/10002/-1?parentProductId=759689) and J&M to name a few

Here are instructions on how to do it.
