I'm on my first cup of coffee, so I'll let someone else go into gorey detail. But it was a load of fun despite the oppressive heat. Thank God Laura kept prodding me to bring my canopy to get us out of the sun because that thing was a life saver. Mid day the entire lot of us was squeezed under the tent!

The event was against a modest Test n Tune crowd but a ton of bikes for their own event. We had 15 cars I think. Two cars stood out as FAST: "Joe" had a legend lime turbo that was doing 10s, and Ron Leonard was there in his built n/a built 5.4 doing low 11s. EVERYONE was .3-.5 seconds off their times. I think I was the fastest GT with 12.4, and times ran up to the 15s (V6s). We wanted 3 qualifying runs, but ran out of time so we ended up with only 2. Personally my 60fts just couldn't get out of the 1.6s, and my mph was down 3-4mph. Missed shifts all two runs.

I lined up first against run Leonard on a dialed in 12.5. I ran 12.4 missing second! So Ron moved on to round two. Laura won her first round and moved on as well. My car has so much in it now with these new cams and a fantastic tune from Woodbine Motorsports. It's like relearning a brand new car.

For the next round, Laura lined up, burned up the tires real good, and launched out of the hole like a slingshot. We knew a personal best was coming. Until she missed second. Laura's language is second to none and she didn't disappoint! She was so mad. But at the end of the day, again knowing there is more in the car, we're both looking forward to fall air and better times.

All in all, not bad despite a low turnout, and given the size of the racing crowd, it was just as well. I'll be posting up my plans for a fall race for NA S197 for all you folks that couldn't make the FGR racing event.

Thanks for the updates John. Sounds like it was fun. I think the car count may have been down because we got rained out so many times. Folks just got frustrated. Don't blame em' a bit. As long as the folks who came out had fun, that's the important part.

Keep us up to date on what you are planning in the fall. We will help get the word out for sure. I hope to be able to make it, esp since I missed this one. :-(

F the times... its all about GOOD TIMES!

Apprec. the update!

Hope ya'll have some pics and vids to post.

The event isnt huge, but its like a small business; its the people that are involved that'll keep people comming from near and far.

Not many know the entire distilled process this took... well worth it, indeed.

Ill be there next year, FO SHO! :qd:
