Okay, as many of you know, we were waiting for the S197 Shootout to be over to decide if we were going to do a points series for street cars.

Well, the shootout is over and it’s time for another poll.

Here are the details. Let me know what you think...

Heads-up Points Series

Based on 6 races.

Driver’s pay a onetime registration fee for the season, plus the venue on arrival on race day. Charges cover, trophies and a drivers banquet at the end of the season.

Registration Fee - $50 per vehicle, per season. (non-refundable)

Points............................Milestone
90..................................Class Winner
40..................................Class 1st Runner Up
20..................................Class 2nd Runner Up
15..................................Class 3rd Runner Up
10..................................Tech-In

Max Points per Event = 100

Max Points per Season = 600

At the end of the season there will be a driver’s banquet and season trophies.

Venue

Piggyback T&T or other event to eliminate high costs. Driver’s pay the track directly, not us.

Mid-Atlantic tracks only. Mason Dixon, MIR, Cecile, etc

Classes

Any Mod combo, any tires, must be street driven w/full interior, current registration and insurance (no gutted cars).

Must Meet Venue's Posted Safety Regulations & Pass Venue Tech Inspection

NAsty Dozen
12 fastest NA Cars (determined each race day)

If we have enough to expand, we expand to a Quick 16/24/32 format, but still keep the quick 12 as a recognized group of the 12 fastest drivers with an ND designation. All the rest will have an NA designation.

Wild Bunch
12 fastest Power Adder Cars (determined each race day)

If we have enough to expand, we expand to a Quick 16/24/32 format, but still keep the quick 12 as a recognized group of the 12 fastest drivers with an WB designation. All the rest will have a PA designation.

All washouts can bracket for points.

So it's three points races:

N/A

P/A

Bracket

Is that correct?

We would have two points races; N/A and P/A. If you are normally in the N/A or P/A classes, any points earned in the brackets would be applied to your season score for the N/A or P/A class points.

What will be schedule (dates) be ?

We have a few other paid events left this season.

We have not made any choices on dates yet. We really need to get a feel for the racers and what they want to do. If we don't get a committed group of racers, it's not going to work. Hence the poll for the feeler.

Mason Dixon, Cecil County Drag Way are good for us for a one day in and out event. MIR is usually a stay over track.

May I suggest one other track?
Beaver Springs.
http://www.beaversprings.com/

Beaver Springs Dragway is an IHRA Sanctioned 1/4 Mile facility.

Track Elevation: 632 feet

From York / Maryland area:
I-83 North to US-11-15 North.
US 11-15 North to just 2 miles past Liverpool.
Here's a real short cut, saves 12 miles!
PA 104 North to Middleburg.
US 522 South to Beaver Springs.
PA-235 North to the track.

We have been there many times.

For those who would like to race and take your girlfriend/wife, son or daughter for a ride along, BSD is the place for family fun.

One thing I especially like about BSD, they have a partition wall that allows driver wanting to use the water box to back in, and allow those who don't to avoid it altogether.

The partition serves another purpose, it protects your car from the car in front of you from throwing debris toward your car.

Just a suggestion. :)

Are you going to Mustang week? I was planning on making it this year

We should do a snow bird event like in Jan-feb down south, I am getting tires of the cold snow drenched winters.

But, there still can be a 'title' rather than just a rental

East Coast Grudge: Settle it...

Trash talk all year, but settle it HERE!

Gonna really REALLY try, Im as committed to Thurs-Sunday of the event as I was the first Rockingham. Car should be finished and tuned. It'd be fun to tow it there, cruise, and enjoy before the Fall racing, beat up equipment time comes!
